A family heirloom gets a Perfect Shade.

This shade was made for a client who has a real passion for cut glass and for rich, textured fabrics.

The waterford lamp’s original shade was a classic white, sheer, pleated silk that was beginning to deteriorate. Perfect Shade to the rescue!

We worked together to select fabrics that would really show off the crystal base. The new shade’s dark, jacquard, outer fabric does not emit any light. It relies on the room’s ambient light to show off a lovely, brown-on-brown embroidered pattern. Meanwhile, the interior lining is a metallic coated linen that directs all of the bulb’s light down to cut pattern of the base.
